‘Cause I’m on top of the world

Like the song from Imagine Dragons says “I’m on top of the world/ Waiting on this for a while now”… But I finally did it. “I’ve had the highest mountains/ I’ve had the deepest rivers” but last May, during my short vacations in Morocco, I conquered another peak: the Atlas!

It is a mountain range across the north-western stretch of Africa extending about 2.500 km through Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. The highest peak has an elevation of 4.167 metres, and although we didn’t get there we arrived pretty high. But the most interesting thing about the Atlas is not its high, since it doesn’t even guarantees it a spot amongst the TOP 100 Higher Mountains in the World, the most interesting thing is the fact that it separates the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines from the Sahara Desert, creating a beautiful mix of cultures.

Plus these mountains have been home to a number of plant and animal species unique in Africa, not to mention in the world, many of them endangered and some about to get extinct. So, as you can expect, I’m not showing you pictures of those plants or animals, but the following fish eye pictures are still pretty cool and vibrating, specially due to their contrast of colours, because Morocco is all about contrasts.
